I have decided to remove the links to Ham Radio Deluxe, originally the move to paid software left a lot of users hanging as the current version they were using was going to disappear overnight meaning if their PC died the free software they were using would no longer be available. At this point over 6 years have passed and Hams have had the opportunity to budget for and purchase the paid version of HRD or move to some of the other free software available. While I agree the current free offerings have never reached the level of HRD I feel that continuing to making these files easily available is only stifling the need for innovation so I am removing them. For now I have placed a link to the official site and manual for those who come across this page via old search links.

In 2003 Peter (PH1PH) and Simon (HB9DRV) created Ham Radio Deluxe as a simple Rig Control Program, it quickly grew to be so much more. In 2011 they sold HRD to a group of hams who intended to sell newer versions as a paid program, but making the promise to keep the old version free forever. It was announced in August of 2013 by a small blurb on the top of the archive page that all copies of the free version would be removed from their site on September 1st. Taking up the offer listed on the site inviting hams to host the files on their own website you will find below the last versions of the free software available for you to download. I recommend you try the latest version first, and work your way back if you experience any issues.

No known official manual exists for version 5 of HRD, but there is a Preliminary Manual for 5.21.
